I den norditalienska regionen Emilia-Romagna framväxte efter andra världskriget en egenartad samhällsmodell som ekonomiskt baserade sig på små- och medelstora företag och som socialt strävade till ett medborgarförankrat jämlikt samhälle. I avhandlingen eftersträvas efter beskrivning av modellens olika delar en klarläggning av varför en dylik modell uppkom, hur den har utvecklats och hur den har uppfattats av observatörer och forskare. Beaktande ämnets omfattning och mångfacettering kan endast metoder som funktionalistisk förklaring och histo-risk härledning användas i avhandlingen för att uppnå avhandlingens mål. Forskningsmaterial 'öronmärkt' för modellen är knappt. Två grundläggande forskningar publicerades på 1990-talet, en som främst fokuserar på model-lens ekonomiska del och en som belyser modellens historiska ursprung. En genomgång av det befintliga forskningsmaterialet lyckas klarlägga modellens historiska rötter, men visar på en obalans i behandlingen av de ekonomiska och de sociala målsättningarna. Forskningsmaterialet avslöjar tyvärr en bristande belysning av modellens ideologiska anknytning. Källmaterialet sätter gränser för de mål som uppsatts för avhandlingen. För att uppnå målsättningen upptas i avhandlingen en okonventionell koppling mellan modellen och dess ideologiska provinians. Emilienmodellen är en fortgående föränderlig process som avspeglas i behandlingen av modellen i forskningssyfte. Den uppmärksamhet som modellen väckt väntas leda till utvidgad och fördjupad forskning i företeelsen Emilien-modellen.

This study examines the concept of Nordic added value in Nordic cultural cooperation through the case study of the Nordic Culture Fund. This study aims to understand how the Nordic culture fund implemented the concept and to identify regionalist logic utilised during this process. By doing so, this work aims to contribute to the scholarship on the Nordic added value, exploring its practical application within the cultural sector of Nordic cooperation. To achieve this goal, non-negative matrix factorisation topic modeling was used to analyse a collection of policy documents and web pages of the Nordic culture fund published between 2002 to 2023. This study found a shift in how the concept is operationalized, alongside its regionalist logic. Initially, the Fund emphasised internal Nordic collaboration, based on heritage identity to foster the sense of Nordic community and legitimise Nordic cultural cooperation. However, since the late 2010s, the focus shifted towards the global context, integrating neoliberal values to promote Nordic culture on the global stage. This extension of scale from the regional to global level illustrates a relational characteristic of Nordic added value. By mapping the aforementioned shifts of the concept, this study contributes to the holistic understanding of the Nordic added value.
