Tiivistelmä - Referat - Abstract How are young people in Finland taught about sexuality? What are their views on sexual harassment? Over the last decade our knowledge on sexuality has increased. Society, in which we live in, has become more open sexuality., But do we meet the need of the young people in the field of sex education? With descriptive literature review I aim to get a better understanding of the state of the sex education provided for upper comprehensive school students in Finland. I am also interested on young peoples views on sexual harrassment. Material was search through Helka- and Google Scholar databases, and by exploring the literature of the field. In general Finland has good quality sex education. Inadequacies still exist. Former studies show us decline of the knowledge on sexual related topics. Especially there seems to be a need for more sex education on topics such as pregnancy and STI’s. Studies show, how boys tend to get lower grades when testing sexual knowledge. Sexual harrassment seems to be hard to identify. Lack of coherent sex education material was mentioned by many professionals. There seems to be a need for fresh, scientific studies about sex education.
