The Bachelor’s Thesis’ aim was to conduct information from previous studies. Earlier studies show that motivation can be defined by using self-determination theory by Ryan and Deci. Well-being at work can be considered as positive feelings towards work and coping with the workload. Well-being at work is also related in to work engagement which I define as a positive experience reflected from the work. In the Bachelor’s Thesis, I also examined the connection in between motivation and well-being at work, and how motivation and well-being at work appears in the previous studies. Research questions are 1) what factors effect on motivation, 2) how well-being at work turn out, and 3) how motivation and well-being at work are related? The Thesis was executed as a systematic review. The research material consisted of 12 peer reviewed articles collected from the EBSCOhost-database. Analyze was executed as a content analysis. In practice, I highlighted the main findings, and composed them in a table. Due to the analyze, the results formed in relation with the research questions. Motivation may be defined in multiple ways, but self-determination theory’s autonomy was one of the key factors for internal motivation. In turn, well-being at work reflected in to coping with the workload, work engagement and work performance as an individual and organization’s member. The results indicate that motivation and well-being at work are related to each other. In all cases internal motivation predicted more strongly well-being at work than external motivation.
