Kähkönen, Katariina (2019)Compassion and yoga are both topical subjects for well-being. The aim of the thesis is to find connections between compassion, early childhood education and yoga practice. The purpose is to look at the strengthening of compassion with yoga in the social environment of early childhood education. It is essential to take note of the sense of well-being and learning as a source of well-being and communality in early childhood education. Yoga and consciousness exercises is possible to serve as tools to maintain a sense of connectivity even in challenging situations, enabling a compassionate action culture to be strengthened. Research is based on a literature study that utilizes content analysis. The study has used a classification has been used for grouping the themes of the Early Childhood Education Plan to support the consolidation of compassion. Below the themes, the results of yoga studies have been compiled to look at the benefits of yoga. On the basis of the analysis, yoga implementation was investigated in the field of early education in terms of developing compassion and acting in a group. The research gave new insight into how compassion can be strengthened through the combination of breathing and motion and through the use of stories and imagination training. It is important to consider collaboration of working, positive and encouraging atmosphere in the group from the point of view of compassion. The study has also taken into account the current skill of sedation and stopping. Yoga practice prepares for a conscious, open and receptive operating culture. High quality early education requires the compassion and presence of all sub-facets to be realized, enabling yoga and consciousness training.
