    The purpose of this thesis was to find out how swedish immersion pedagogy has affected in adult peoples lifes, what thoughts and experiences people have about immersion pedagogy. The theoretical frame is about the history of immersion education, what is immersion pedagogy both in kindergarten and school, possible learning difficulties because of immersion education and bilingualism and how language affects in how people see other cultures. After that thesis examines the results of the study and analyze the results. The study was made with a survey. 92 people with swedish immersion background answered to the survey. The result shows that a part of the informants experiences that immersion has had negative affects in different learning skills in school. The informants experienced that their immersion background has helped them to learn other languages. A big part of te informants experienced that immersion has opened their eyes to other cultures and developed an open mind to people from other cultures. The informants also had a positive approach to immersion education and most of the informants would choose immersion kindergarten and school to their own children. A big part of the informants thought that they are bilingual because of their background in immersion education.
