Objectives. There is no common rule or law for the placement of a child from multiple births in day care groups. Earlier research on group investments in multicultural children has been done very little in the field of early childhood education. Therefore, kindergartens and groups follow different practices that may not please all parties. This study opens up the perspective of parents and educators towards group investment choices. Particular attention is paid to the fact that can the individual encounter be heard in teachers and parents speech. The purpose of the research is to raise the debate and draw attention to the phenomena that can be observed in the material. Methods. The study material consisted of 166 kindergarten teachers and 249 parents and guardians. The material was collected in November 2016 through a social networked online survey. I analyze the data by combining a quantitative and qualitative analysis method. Results and Conclusions. The results showed that a strong majority of parents and guardians of children from multiple births would place their children in the same kindergarten group. For kindergarten teachers the answers were not as homogeneous. The justifications showed that many parents and teachers would be willing to accept another option if it was better for the child. Both the parents' and guardians' and kindergarten teachers' replies were strongly showing the individual attention and encounter of a child. When making group assignment choices, the case should be considered for each child on a case-by-case basis.
