    Objectives. The objectives of this thesis are to find out in what way vegan lifestyle influences parents when they are choosing kindergarten for their children and also what kind of attitudes have they encountered and what would be the ideal kindergarten for vegan children. Vegans do not use any products that originate from animals. For example, they do use no meat or dairy in their diet, wool, silk or leather in their clothes. Vegans do not go to the zoo or circus. Vegans have different life values and they might feel that their values do not go hand in hand with the values in kindergarten. Former researches have pointed out that value conflicts in the child´s environment such as the ones at home and in kindergarten can have a negative influence on the child´s development. Method. This is a qualitative research. Its research method is phenomenographic. It means that at the centre of the research are the experiences collected from the interviewed people. Material for the research was collected with a questionnaire. Vegan parents who have one or more children in kindergarten answered total of 13 questionnaires. Material from the questionnaire was analysed by a content analyse method. Analysis progressed in three phases: reduction, clustering and abstraction. Results and conclusion. Research demonstrated vegan lifestyle, especially vegan diet played an essential role when parents were choosing kindergarten for their children. Parents had experienced neutral, positive, negative and comparative attitudes towards their vegan lifestyle. Some vegan parents felt that their values did not go hand in hand with the ones in kindergarten, even though they had had positive attitudes. Parents were divided in two groups when they described their ideal kindergarten. One part was happy to have veganism to be taken in account and the other part wanted the whole kindergarten to be vegan.
