    The goal of this Master’s Thesis is to examine how teachers in comprehensive school implement finance education. In addition, it is explored how teachers react to teaching these subjects. Economic and consumer skills are an important part of life and wellbeing. Economy and consuming affects to even younger people. Young people may cause harm economically and wider for their future if they do not have enough knowledge to make right choices. It is detected that parents have a significant effect to children financial capability. However, every child does not get enough information at home. That is why financial education is important to be teacher in school. Children are interested in economy and money and they hope to get more information about these themes specifically in school. Teachers are in a significant role of how these themes are handled. In this thesis it is examined how teachers think teaching finance education. This Master’s Thesis was conducted as a qualitative research. I interviewed eight teachers who worked in comprehensive school. Five of them were class teachers and three of them were home economics teachers. Teacher work experiences variated from 1 to 25 years. Research data was collected by using a semi-structured interview. Data from the interviews was analyzed by using qualitative content analysis. Results show that contents of finance education are seen very wide. Important was to teach contents according to age and tied to everyday life. Teachers’ own interest was essential. Teachers thought that it is meaningful to teach finance and consuming because students are interested in these themes.
