(2016)In this retrospective study 27 patients with PSC and concurrent IBD were depicted from hospital files. 81 controls were also chosen. Information on colonoscopy findings, histology, surgery, medication, overall patient well-being and growth was collected from patients files. The aim of this study was to observe how IBD develops in the presence of PSC, AIH and PSC-AIH. In this study we found that AILD-IBD patients seemed to have a milder disease course regarding IBD. Colonoscopy findings suggested a slightly more aggressive disease course in controls. AILD-IBD patients had less histologic inflammation, no adenocarcinoma was discovered and underwent less bowel surgery than controls. However, AILD-IBD patients received more J-pouches but suffered less from pouchitis and recurring pouchitis. TNF-alfa inhibitor and AZA/MTX use was higher in the control group. Growth delay occurred in both groups, but was more common in CD patients in the control group.
