dct.abstract Chlorophylls (Chls) are the main pigments in the flora responsible to receive the solar energy and convert it into chemical. Such photosensitizers are used nowadays in solar cells to produce cheaper and environmental friendly energy that people need in their daily life. Researchers explore the capabilities of chlorophyll derivatives in order to find those that can be used in solar cells. In this project, Pheophorbide a, the extracted from algae and in situ modified chlorophyll derivative, was further modified synthetically in order to convert it to a photosensitizer pigment for the Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs). en
