The purpose of this study was to clarify connection between profilation of schools and changing of teachers. Corresponding with educational politics nowadays the authority of our school system has been delegated more and more to the level of schools. That makes it possible for schools to have right to decide quite independently of the contents, objectives and procedures of teaching offered. Schools have also right to make their own curriculums and so profile as they want to. By the movement of the labor also teachers change their working places. In practice this means that teachers move from schools and duties to another after different working periods. One can have various opinions concerning this kind of changing and its effects on school’s working atmosphere and all the parties of school world. Especially effects on some minor teaching unit can be considerable. The research was carried out in an elementary school of Helsinki, concentrating on the changing of teachers in a combined class taught with Montessori method. The research contained both pupils of the class, their parents and other teachers of the school. The research was carried out by studying literature, observing the class, making interviews of the pupils and teachers and having articles written by the parents. Because of the narrow amount of the research material and the case study nature of the research no generalizations of results showing various kinds of effects of the changing of teachers can be made.
