Objectives. Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are neurodevelopmental disorders that have a broad impact on the lives of children with ASD and their families. According to the eco-cultural theory, many factors affect a child and his or her rehabilitation, ranging from family's resources to rehabilitation and rehabilitation laws. In order to further develop the rehabilitation of children with ASD, there is a need for extensive research on the functioning of rehabilitation. The purpose of this study was to find out views of professionals and parents on the rehabilitation of children aged 6 and younger in the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa. Professionals working with children with ASD and the parents are used to identify risk factors, rehabilitative factors and development suggestions for rehabilitation of children with ASD. Methods. Group discussion was used as a research method. In addition to the chairman, the group discussion was attended by a representative of the Finnish Association for Autism and Asperger Syndrome, one occupational therapist, two speech-language pathologists, two early childhood special education teachers and one parent of a child with ASD. The group discussion was filmed, transcribed into a text file and analyzed by inductive content analysis. Results and conclusions. Challenges to identification and diagnosis, access to services and multiculturalism, as well as lack of education and knowledge, were identified as risk factors for the rehabilitation of children with ASD. In particular, changes in rehabilitation practices, co-operation between different professionals and peer support were seen as factors contributing to rehabilitation. The development proposals focused on early identification and diagnosis, service development, and information sharing and attitudes. The rehabilitation of children with ASD should be developed by enhancing early identification and diagnosis, developing services (for example by equalizing them and allocating resources for rehabilitation, providing early support and investing in early-stage intensive rehabilitation and parental guidance) and increasing autism-specific knowledge.

Objectives. The purpose of the study is to find out whether the group discussions of primary school teachers features concepts related to competitiveness. I look at the subject by asking teachers what direction comprehensive school is heading towards and how teachers would develop comprehensive school. The discussion on education policy has general features of competitiveness and it is described as neoliberal. In the theoretical framework, I examined the policies and programs of education politics in support of the theory. The concept of competitiveness is described as vague and ambiguous. In the group discussions themes that were mentioned frequently were evaluation, measurement and development. These concepts are related to competitiveness. I looked at my research problem through themes. This research is from the fields of general and adult education research. Methods. The study was carried out using qualitative methods. As a research method, I used thematic analysis. I conducted two group discussion for collecting my data. Two groups of primary school teachers participated in the group discussions in spring 2019. Both primary schools are located in the Uusimaa region. Results and conclusions. The results show that competitiveness emerged in the group discussions of primary school teachers. Competitiveness comes to the fore in the group discussions of primary schools teachers as an emphasis on evaluation and measurement. In addition, the results show that in comprehensive school, individualization plays a key role. The contrary speech of competitiveness emerged in discussions as development. Defining the concept of competitiveness in the educational context of primary school requires further research.

This qualitative case study analyzes how female skateboarders are seen as learners in social communities of practice. Previous studies have shown that skateboarding communities are dominantly masculine. Skateboarding is also learned in these communities of practice with and from other skateboarders. This study examines with dialogical analysis how female and male skateboarders negotiate their participation in these communities of practice. Previous studies have shown that females actively negotiate their right to participate in the skateboarding communities. Female skateboarders have also started to organize skateboarding events for females only. This study examines if the gendered tensions are reflected in the dialogues between skateboarders. Dialogical analysis of multivoicedness was used in this study. The data was collected with focus group discussions. Two female and two male skateboarders discussed aspects of learning and gender in two separate sessions. The duration of both sessions was 30 minutes. The data was transcribed and analyzed with a dialogical analysis of multivoicedness. Also content analysis was performed in order to find social representations of female skateboarding and learning. The connection between learning and community is very evident in the "I-positions" and "inner Others" that were found in the data. The skateboarders emphasize the collective and inclusive nature of skateboarding communities and see that females have the same possibilities to learn in these communities as males. Female voices stand out or negotiate with male voices only in rare situations. Social representations of "how females learn how to skateboard" reflect previous studies from United States, Canada, and Sweden. Social representations perceive female skateboarders as few in number, lazy to practice, just in it because it is trendy and afraid of physical risk taking.
