    Objectives. Studies shows that eating habits among university students correspond with the nutrition recommendations quite well however eating irregularly or making poor food choices have been the key reasons behind health problems. The aim of this study was to examine what type of eating habits the home economics teacher students have and how regularly they eat in their everyday life. Furthermore, what kind of nutritional aspects individual pay attention to while choosing their food and how does this vary between each individual. In addition, the study investigated if being a student or home economic studies had any impact on the current diet of the students. Methods. The primary research method for this study was qualitative. Data was collected by a semi-structured theme interview from five home economics teacher students. Interviews were conducted in April and after being used for analyzing the results of this study. Content analysis and thermalizing was used to analyze the material. Results and conclusion. The study shows that most of the Home Economics Teacher students eat regularly at least five times during the day. Eating regularly among students meant every 3–4 hours. Choosing nutritious food and eating regularly were seen to lead to better life satisfaction and better well-being in everyday life. Furthermore, the students were taking into account what type of food they choose and how nutritious it is. Moreover, eating habits of the students were corresponding with the recommendations very well. Study shows that most of the students was likely to choose healthy food options and interest were seen towards nutritional information of food products. In addition, students were paying attention to any food additives when making their choices of healthy food. Furthermore, the results show that student life and field of study were affecting the eating and eating habits of some of the home economics teacher students.
