    This study examines the views on co- teaching of Department of Education students. The aim of this study was to figure out the possibilities to utilize co -teaching in practise. The study was interested in student`s co-teaching methods when teaching to read. The purpose was to figure out what kind of physical learning environments students are willing arrange and how the tasks and responsibilities could be divided betveen the class teacher and the special education teacher. The study was also interested in requirements of functional co-teaching. The research methodology is qualitative and research data was collected using halfstructured questionnaire in the autumn 2012. 18 at least third year students participated in this study. The findings of this study showed that most of the students would form ability groups. Couple of students would form groups in other way and use station teaching. Special education, remedial instruction, paying attention to gifted students and projects was mentioned. Half of the participants thinks that special education teacher should teach weak students. Teacher`s interaction skills, motivation, commitment and planning, flexible timetables, support from the principal, resources and adaptable learning environments was seen as requirements of functional co-teaching.
