The purpose of the study was to examine the ways to support young children’s first attachment relationship at the kindergarten. Young child’s first attachment is his most important relationship. This is why it is very important to support it. It is important that pedagogues in the kindergarten recognize the factorization which challenge and which strengthens to support this attachment relationship. I approach first attachment relationship by clarifying those ways to support child’s first attachment relationship, and the things which challenge it. Many children start kindergarten at very young age. This is why pedagogues at the kindergarten should have readiness and understanding about young children’s first attachment relationship, and about the ways to support it. John Bowlby’s theory of attachment relationships and Mary Ainsworth’s way to classify attachment relationships are behind my study. The study carried out by interviewing kindergarten teachers and childminders in the kindergartens in metropolitan area. Six people took part in the interviews. Interviews where theme interviews. There were two themes: Child’s and parents attachment relationship in the kindergarten and the idiosyncrasy of raising young children. I analysed the study materials by making themes. 1. Ways to support child and parents attachment relationship at the kindergarten. 2. Things which strengthen this supporting. 3. Things which challenge this supporting. Especially small group size, invest to the time when child begins at the kindergarten and good collaboration between parents and pedagogues at the kindergarten are the most important things to support child’s first attachment relationship. Long days at kindergarten and careless parents where the most challenging things. The results show that pedagogues find the support of attachment relationship important. It is important to consciously support child’s first attachment relationships and have readiness to do that. Based to the results pedagogues at the kindergarten have an important job to support children’s first attachment relationships. A safe attachment relationship is very important to a child and it has an effect to a person’s life.
