    The purpose of this descriptive literature review was to clarify and collect information on teachers’ values. The study explores educational science literature regarding values and documents that obligate and instruct teachers. The study also presents a few publications of professional ethics of teachers’. The study proceeded of collecting previous general definitions of the concept of value to examine teachers’ value. The research method is a descriptive literature review, where the purpose is to solve how the concept of value and the relationship of value and education has been defined before through the read material. After this the study continues more towards teachers’ values by bringing out written educational value bases, which both obligate and instruct teachers. As the main literature the study used legal documents, which obligate and guide teachers, such as Law of Basic Education and Basic Education's Curriculum (POPS2014) and also some ethical documents made for teachers such as Ethical Principles and Values for the Teaching Profession and Comenius Oath, both published by Trade Union of Education (OAJ) and also teachers' virtues presented by Spoof (2007). The study gathered definitions of the concept of value made in educational literature. The study brought up some of the written values of teachers' and also did aggregation of the main values from the legal documents and professional ethics instructions, which obligate and guide teachers. As a result of this descriptive literature review one can conclude that education is action with a goal-oriented purpose. Teacher is responsible of the practical educational work with a relatively large pedagogical freedom, which allows teachers to make their own interpretation of the learning objectives. Teachers' can clarify their own valuations, ideals and motives by investigating their own value base, which then reflect on their actions and develop them as teachers. The study can be used to explore teachers' values and also to awaken teachers' to do self-reflection.
