Objectives. The Finnish education system has developed to current situation pretty quickly. Free- and compulsory education gives person wide options to gravitate to desired study program. Background of educational choices has many effective things, which differentiation and analyzing are my thesis objectives. On my thesis I find out what kind of backgrounds effects persons educational choices in Finland. Methods. I carry out my thesis as descriptive literature summary. This method gave me option to theorize educational choices and related backgrounds creating from these things big picture. On my thesis I utilized versatile study data of educational sciences and social sciences. My endeavor is that my research literature responds with my research problem widely. Results and consequences. Educational choices and background of those are really multidimensional. Many composers on frame of educational choices are on reciprocal interaction. Parent’s education, parent’s socioeconomic position, person place of residence such as selection made by school, educating to society and symbolic order are composers whose can explain person educational choices. Analyzing results tells us that it’s possible to effect on person educational choice with educational policies. I will use this literature review results on my upcoming master thesis. My purpose is research more about frames of educational choices by quantitative research methods.
