    The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between attachment and childhood traumatic experiences in psychological development. Previous studies have shown that the quality of parent-child relationship and traumatic childhood experiences have an impact on the child's psychological development. The following research questions were raised to reveal the main phenomena of the research: 1) What is the link between attachment and psychological development? 2) What is the link between childhood traumatic experiences and psychological development? The hypothesis was that the quality of attachment and the traumatic experiences in childhood had an impact in child’s psychological development and at worst these factors can cause far-reaching psychological problems of mental deficiencies. In this research qualitative method was used. The study was conducted as a descriptive lit-erature review. The study material consisted of two doctoral theses and one longitudinal study, and the method of analysing the material was a material-based qualitative content analysis. The results of the study are in line with previous studies. Based on the selected studies, the attachment relationship and childhood trauma experiences were related to the child's psy-chological development. Studies showed that the quality of attachment was influenced by cognitive development and psychological well-being. Experiences of violence were classi-fied as childhood trauma. Violent experiences influenced children's mental health and social relationships. Violence in family circumstances led to internal i.e. emotional symptoms and external i.e. behavioural symptoms. Consequences of military violence were linked to post-traumatic stress disorder and symptoms of depression. This research provides information on the psychological development factors of children and their connection to mental well-being and behaviour. In the future, interactions of the factors affecting psychological development with the child's wide-ranging area of expertise especial-ly in kindergarten context could be viewed more extensively. It could also be interesting to find out how kindergarten staff identifies psychological disorders and what kind of tools do they have to encounter and support children suffering from mental disorders.
