    Tiivistelmä - Referat - Abstract The objective of this Bachelor’s thesis was to examine children’s books utilizing in second language education in kindergarten and early childhood education. There was three research question. First research question focused on that do kindergarten teachers utilize children’s books with their second language (L2) education and pedagogy. Second research question find answers to children’s books effects for child’s language learning and language development. Third research question centered finding answers for kindergarten teacher’s behavior of literacy and how it might effect by taking children’s literacy on their pedagogy. The objective of this Bachelor’s thesis is to explore how children’s books are supporting L2-child of learning second language in kindergarten environment. Theory of this study deal with the concept of L2-education and what that means in practice in kindergarten. Theory also handles children’s language environment, children’s literature history and children’s books utilization in second language education. This study also examines how to benefit and support L2-children in language development with children’s books. For this study was interviewed six Finnish kindergarten teacher by theme interview. All of them are working with second language child group in Helsinki. Every interview was recorded in peaceful condition in kindergarten. After that all of the interviews were transcribed and was examine under three research question by using qualitative research methods. The findings of this study has shown that all of interviewed kindergarten teachers were using children’s books on their L2-education either just own activity or by integrating to other orientation like music or sports. Children’s books were most utilized with pictures (children’s picture books) when teaching language to L2-childrens. The results also has shown that children’s books was notable help when learning and growing vocabulary and internalization of grammar like nomination and syntax. Moreover children’s books were supporting also L2-childrens using language and communication with others in play or other activity. The results point out that kindergarten teacher behavior and attitude of literacy have effects of using children’s literacy in second language education.
