    The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to see what kind of interventions has been developed for children and adolescents who go to school to prevent social exclusion. Current studies are familiar with the risk factors of social exclusion that can be seen already in the early age of children. These risk factors are discussed in this literature review. This study also deals with the ways that is possible to prevent social exclusion in school context. The concept of exclusion has many dimensions, which are discussed in this study. This study also intro-duces the ways that the Finnish curriculum aims to prevent social exclusion. This thesis is a discretionary literature review. It means that this study has features of both descriptive and systematic literature reviews. This study consists literature that is relevant for the research questions. The literature for this study is collected from the years 1994 to 2016 and the language of the literature was Finnish and English. The results showed that it is possible to prevent social exclusion in school context. Teachers and other adults working in schools are in an important role to notice if students are in a need of support. However results showed that there is a need for a national intervention model in Finland that would enable supporting children and adolescents in the most effective way. For the further study it would be interesting to develop that kind of intervention model.
