    The purpose and aim of this research were to study the concept of the forest relationship, and to create an overall picture of the forest relationship as a complex and multiangled phenomenon The review begins with the emergence of the forest relationship, ending with more far-reaching effects, such as the well-being achieved from the forest and forest-cultural sustainability. This research highlights the special position of children's forest relations in the field of forest relations and examines the forest relationship among the nature relations, the environment relations, and the forest culture. Regarding to forest culture, this study explores the possibilities of environmental education and forest education to build the necessary sustainable forest culture in the future. This research was conducted as a literature review and the material used were scientific articles, research reports and other science-based publications. Majority of the research material was Finnish publications because of the Finland based topic. According to this literature study the personal and complex forest relationship arises for most of the people among the early childhood and evolves throughout life. The relationship with the forest develops through different experiences, sensations and feelings gained in the forest. The complex forest relationships of people create a forest culture, as a member of which it is possible for a person to be influenced by several different dimensions. Children's forest education plays a major role in building the sustainable forest culture that is essential for the future, both for individual and community well-being. It is the responsibility of adults to provide opportunities to spend time in the forest and thus create the relationship with the forest.
