The purpose of this study is to take a look at the identity of an entrepreneur and also the ways that being an entrepreuner organizes his/her life now and has organized in the past. The change to more uncertain working life has been the reason why many people have become an entrepreuner instead of having paid labour. Work in 21st century is much more individual than it was in former centuries. This trend means that individual choices in working life are nowadays strictly linked to the identity of an individual. This study is made by qualitative methods. Four entrepreneurs from different generations were inter- viewed for this study. The interviews were half structured. The material from these interviews was cate- gorized to three different categories that were identity, every-day action and story of life. The material was analyzed with former research and literature. The results of this study showed that being an entrepreneur is something that strongly forms the every- day life of an entrepreneur Being an entrepreneur is a pretty big part of an identity of an entrepreneur and his/her business is something what an entrepreneur thinks even when he/she is not working. This is why supporting the entrepreneur’s ability to work is important. One or both of the parents of the entre- preneurs that were interviewed is or has also been an entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is often inher- itable.
