The purpose of this study was to find out parents experiences of the cooperation between home and daycare, in a conversation culture and cultural activity point of view. The research questions were as follows: in what way parents have experienced cooperation between daycare center personnel in a conversation culture and cultural activity point of view and in what ways the cultures could be developed between home and daycare? Previous studies have shown, that the cooperation between home and daycare affects the child´s comprehensive well-being, what was the essential reason for my interest in studying the subject. The objective of the study was to give both the daycare and parents information about current state as well as give tools to developing co-operation. The study is quantitative. There was 26 parents of about 200 who attended in the study from the daycare center located in the Uusimaa region. I collected the research material with an online survey. In the survey there where both closed and open questions. Analysis of the material regarding the closed questions where made with SPSS24-program and I will present the results as frequency charts. Analysis of the open questions did not succeed with content analysis, due to a low amount of response, so I ended up opening the answers as such and added authentic quotations into the text. According to the results parents experienced that the daycare centre have succeeded to create such a conversation culture and cultural activity, which supports the cooperation between the parents and daycare. The part of conversation culture parents experienced among other things that the trust between home and daycare is in order and conversations being dialogical and significant for the purpose of child getting support as well as parent getting pedagogical support. The parents experienced that the daycare centre succeed in the cultural activity part in organizing versatile activities, which support child´s learning and development progress. The daycare centre was quite successfully created communality and enabling family networking, but on the other hand about half of respondents would like to get to know the other families better and would like to see additional involvement in communality. Based on the results of the study the main development areas of the day care center are related in providing enough time for conversations, arranging a whole family event´s, providing cultural attractions for children, take in advance of knowhow of the parents and invest in communality and networking.
