    The purpose of this study is to find the benefits and challenges of co-teaching in primary and high schools. The research material that is used in this study is from the 21st century. The purpose is to accumulate both teachers’ and students’ perspectives of the benefits and challenges of co-teaching. This study presents both Finnish and international previous studies about the phenomenon. The challenges are presented also because the solution of co-teaching challenge for next studies. This research was executed as the systematic review and the utilised material were the sixteen earlier studies of co-teaching. The results of the research indicated that there were many benefits of co-teaching for teachers. The colleague helped to share work-load and brought own strengths to the classroom. The most benefits gained the students with special needs for example to learning and participating in co-teaching classroom. There were much less challenges of co-teaching for the students than teachers.
