    The criminalization of homosexual acts and persecution of LGBTQ+ people is a serious global problem and therefore LGBTQ+ refugees can seek asylum on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in the European Union. The asylum process should protect LGBTQ+ refugees as they can be considered to belong to a particular social group subjected to persecution because of their sexual orientation and gender identity. However, as there are existing gaps in the legislation, the legislation is not always applied as it should be. Among other things, there has been a major problem in which way authorities should confirm the sexual orientation of asylum seekers and therefore illegal or criticized methods have arisen in the asylum process.
  • Emotionellt lönearbete och coping hos socialvårdspersonal med asyl-sökande som klienter

    En del av de som lämnar in sin asylansökan till Migrationsverket får avslag och måste lämna Fin-land. För de socialarbetare som arbetar med asylsökande är det vardag att bemöta människor med traumabakgrund och som har en svår livssituation. Mitt syfte är att undersöka hur socialarbetare upplever den emotionella sidan av sitt arbete med klienterna och hur de hanterar en situation när en klient blir avvisad eller utvisad. Tidigare forskning vittnar om en stor emotionell påfrestning för socialarbetare och att det kan leda till icke önskvärda copingmetoder samt utbrändhet hos socialar-betare. Studien består av tre kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer som analyserats med hjälp av innehållsanalys. Resultaten visar att socialarbetare upplever att arbetet med asylsökande i hög grad kräver emotionella resurser men att de lärt sig vilka strategier som underlättar deras tunga känslor. Resultaten är till viss del överensstämmande med tidigare forskning. Tidigare forskning visar att socialarbetare kan börja ifrågasätta den organisation de arbetar för, något som inte kom fram i denna studie. Förslag på fortsatt forskning är att undersöka copingmetoder hos erfarna versus nyutexaminerade socialarbetare.
