The dissertation examines the development of Finnish culture of self-published magazines (ie. zines) from a handful of mimeographed underground magazines of the 1960s to the flood of xerographed punk zines from 1977 to 1982. The approach is historico-aesthetical and concentrates on the impact of technological and social developments on the cultural style. The appendix includes reprints of zine pages from the researched era. The dissertation is in Finnish.
